That has always been one of my favorite Chesterton quotes. Heretics was the first GK book I read (aside from the Father Brown stories), and my liking for him had gradually been building up throughout the reading... the moment I read that quote I knew I loved him.
Better to be weak and serve God, then be strong and serve your self.

Funny that Father Brown's first name is Paul... it might be something beginning with a J., too, there's a discrepancy in the series, but on the whole I prefer Paul. :)
